VIRGO

AUGUST 23 – SEPTEMBER 22

Symbol: The Virgin / Element: Earth / Mode: Mutable

Virgo is a turning point. With this sign, we are halfway through the journey of the zodiac.

Virgo gives us the opportunity to analyze where we are and where we have been, and helps us understand what must shift in order for us to move ahead towards our goals.

Virgo encourages us to ask ourselves:

How will I show up for the world? Where can I be of service? Who needs my unique gifts and perspective?

and

How will I show up for myself along the way? Where do I need to see any harsh realities about my habits, and how I treat myself? And how can I find more compassion, more humility, more presence as I continue to strive forward?

Strategies of Virgo:

  • Loves to be of service

  • Detail-oriented

  • Good with analysis (especially self analysis)

  • Eager to grow

  • Competence, especially with skills that require patience and precision

  • Healthy mind-body balance, cares about personal wellness

Shadows of Virgo:

  • Perfectionism

  • Becomes a martyr, sacrifices self too much

  • Judgmental of others

  • Judgmental of self

  • Negative self image

  • Hard to find satisfaction

  • Too focused on the details to see the bigger picture

How to utilize the Virgo energy:

  • Do a self reflection. Look at the last 6 months to 1 year and ask yourself: Where have I felt aligned, supportive and successful? Where have I felt out of alignment, drained or like I’m not working with the flow of life?

  • Practice radical self compassion. Know there is no such thing as perfect and you are doing the best you can given your circumstances and knowledge.

  • Asses your use of “substances” - drugs, alcohol, caffeine, sugar or anything else you use to make yourself feel better. Does your body want a break from any of these items.

  • Start a new healthy habit. Whether it’s a workout routine or meal plan, Virgo season is a great time to tune into your physical health and wellness.

  • Ask yourself: where and how can I be of service without sacrificing or over committing myself?
