What is a health coach?

A health coach is someone who helps you to identify small diet and lifestyle changes that you can make to reach your health goals, whatever they may be (lose weight, reduce stress, gain energy, etc).  Health coaches are both listeners and advice-givers; they guide clients through the world of contradictory nutrition information and provide recommendations based on the individual's goals, habits, and body.

Do you follow and prescribe any one diet to your clients?

While I myself follow a mainly plant-based diet, I recognize that we are all different - our bodies are different, our taste buds are different, our social and economic circumstances are different.  I believe in "bio-individuality" - what works for one person may not work for someone else - and through my studies at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition am knowledgable in over 100 different dietary theories.  I work with my clients to find the specific foods that make them feel their most vibrant and energetic.

Do I have to have a serious health issue or illness to benefit from a health coach?

No!  I work with many clients who have no major issues but simply want to learn how to eat healthier and incorporate more vegetables into their diets.  I also work with clients who feel good as is, but want to find ways to feel even better!

Do you only work with clients in New York City?

I work with health coaching clients all across the country via Skype and over the phone.  At this time, I only offer yoga classes in the New York City area.
