Loving Lately Winter 2018

As a way to share my favorites with you on a regular basis, I created the "Things I'm Loving Lately" series on my blog. In this series I share everything from food to fitness, brands to beauty products, good reads to good listens.

And while it's APRIL, it still feels like winter here in NYC so today I'm sharing some of things that I've been loving on this season.

Here's what I'm currently craving and crushing on:

I know, what?? I've been *mostly* dairy free for the past few years, but lately I've been experimenting with adding back in some quality yogurt (and even a little cheese). I've been loving a Power Parfait a la Robyn Youkilis for an on-the-go breakfast or even a light dinner. Check out the recipe here.

Drink: Matcha!

After a little caffeine hiatus, I'm back on the matcha train. Most mornings I make some version of this recipe: Superpowers Coconut Matcha Latte, with the addition of a few adaptogenic herbs like ashwaganda and maca (adapto WHAT? Don't stress - I'm working on a blog post ALL about these powerful superherbs. Stay tuned!)

Food: Kitchari

Kitchari is a simple dish made of mung beans, rice, vegetables and spices. It's used in Ayurveda to heal all that ails and is super soothing and comforting dish, especially during the colder months. I'll be sharing my easy recipe for this dish soon!

Book, blog or podcast: Many!!

I really can't pick just one - this winter I've been ALL about reading and listening and learning.

Books = The Way of the Peaceful Warrior, When Things Fall Apart and You Can Heal Your Life.

Podcasts = The Lifestylist and How I Built This (LOVED the episodes on Instagram and Rent the Runway, so interesting!)

Essential oil: copaiba

This is a new oil for me - it's good for soothing anxiety and can also support your immune system. I've been putting a drop on the bottoms of my feet before I go to sleep and have been sleeping great. Learn more about essential oils + purchase here.

Workout or self care: my infrared sauna!

Not only does a good sweat feels SO good in the winter, it's also REALLY really good for you. I've been loving my infrared sauna as a way to sweat it out from home during the colder months.
