While summer may be "officially" coming to an end, the delicious fruits (and veggies) of the season will still be with us for a few more weeks. Personally I'm not quite ready for fall yet, so I'm going to keep on eating these foods and pretend that it's still August [and yes, I'm going to keep wearing white too ;) ]
What's in season right now? Apples (just starting!) beans, beets, broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, chard, corn, eggplant, all the greens + herbs, grapes (have you ever had fresh grapes?? insanely delicious!), nectarines, onions, peaches, pears, peppers, plums, potatoes, radishes, radicchio, tomatoes, turnips, zucchini and MORE.
Late summer produce is actually one of my favorite times of year because you get the best of both the summer and fall seasons. SCORE! So what to make with all these fruits and veggies? I've got a few yummy ideas for you.
