Hi! I'm Emily! I'm a holistic health coach, yoga instructor and wellness enthusiast based in Brooklyn, New York.
More than any "official" title - I'm a lover of life. I'm excited to wake up each morning, do work that I love down to my bones, and fill the rest of my time with people, foods, and activities that energize and uplift me. I'm a perpetual student - always reading up on the latest and greatest wellness trends, experimenting with new recipes and exploring new places.
But my life wasn't always this magical. I struggled with digestive + body image issues for years.
Having a troubled digestion system for most of my adult life, in 2010 I caved and made an appointment with a gastroenterologist, hoping he would provide me with a clear allergy or intolerance that would allow me to “fix” my stomach issues once and for all. How wrong was I. After multiple visits and many tests, all I got was three letters: IBS, also known as Irritable Bowl Syndrome. Also known as a catch all diagnosis when the doctors can’t really figure out what’s wrong with you, but you know something is. My doctor suggested I take a probiotic in the AM, soluble fiber daily, and a slew of other medications for days when things weren’t going so well.
I refused to believe I needed to take medication for the rest of my life in order to feel normal and so I did my own research. I realized that stress can manifest itself many ways in the body, and that digestive trouble was one of those ways. Here I was thinking that I was managing my fast paced corporate job, "healthy" diet and rigorous running regime just fine, when in reality my system was stressed out beyond belief. My stomach issues were just the start - I knew that if I didn't make some changes I was going to burn out.
And so I did my own research. I discovered the power of whole foods, the power of slower physical movement, and the power of simple breathing. I began sharing my healthy creations and revelations with friends and family, most of whom were pleasantly surprised to find that they too could love cheese-less pizza and naturally sweetened chickpea blondies.
I became more dedicated to my yoga practice, finding that the calm and peace cultivated throughout my physical practice followed me into my day to day life, and that I could use this to manage stress in a natural way. In 2013, I completed my 200-hour teacher training with The Studio DC in Washington, DC.
As I continued to learn more about the positive impact of holistic lifestyle changes, I found myself sharing more and more of this information with friends, family, and colleagues. I became the “go to” girl for anything health and wellness related, and I loved it. To take my knowledge to the next level, I enrolled in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition’s Health Coach Training Program in 2014.

My education AND personal experience has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on these skills, I work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.
